sorry for taking such a long time to post an entry. my wireless keyboard was giving me problems.. i guess that's the thing with wireless technology, it makes things look really nice and neat. but sometimes when problems arise, you're rendered pretty helpless.
talking about helpless, i believe nothing can portray that more aptly than the disasters that have happened over the past two weeks - Myanmar's Cyclone and China's earthquake. lives lost, homes destroyed.. it came so suddenly and took so much with it.
i thought about the time i was in taiwan for filming years back, i experienced an earthquake myself. it was measured 6.8 on the richter scale. thinking about it now, i guess i was really fortunate that the building i was in didn't collapse. everything was shaking, the home decorations and vases were all falling to the ground, shattering all around me.
i can only imagine the pain of those victims in Myanmar and Sichuan right now.. many many times more than what we will ever know.
we're blessed in singapore, that we don't have to worry about natural disasters. the only thing we do complain and take for granted is the heat and the sudden heavy showers. but what if one day, everything that was ever precious and dear to us was suddenly taken away? we really should cherish what we have.. shouldn't we?
