just finished this book. historical documentation of war.
something that stood out : ".. one that is most distressing of all. It lies in the frightening ease with which the mind can accept genocide, turning us all into passive spectators to the unthinkable."
i think this is a scary thought. perhaps, i shouldn't use the word "thought" because it has happened and will continue to be a phenomenon. like something i studied in psychology before, we can be passive spectators to a crime that is happening right before our eyes.
from a small scale example of witnessing a person being robbed.. to a large scale case of war. however, there are still a small group of people who are willing to step forward to make that difference, to lend a helping hand.. which group will we fall into?
