the weather's been so unpredictable recently. scorching hot one moment, heavy rain the next. after a whole day's filming, the thing i really look forward to is a good hot shower. this brings me back to the time i was in china. hot water came in only in the mornings and evenings.. nights rather. there was no guarantee of hot water in the mornings either.
so this is what happens.. i wake up in the morning, go for my shower wondering if there's going to be hot water. sometimes it's lukewarm, most times it's cold.. but it's always a surprise, because it's always a relief when i get hot water. a BIG relief.. but then again.. cold shivers don't last very long. when i'm done with filming by evening, i'll wait till about 9pm till i go for my shower again. that's when the hot water definitely comes in. however, there's always that element of surprise again.. cold water. so i especially love it when my filming ends at night and i can go straight for a shower instead of waiting around.
we're pampered here, with our heaters and hot water any time we want it. and have we taken something like this for granted? i know of people who don't even have heaters at home, and they actually boil water when they need a shower. do we even realize how fortunate we are? just something simple that we don't worry about, or think too much of. but it's interesting for sure.
